Kodava Koota Accomplishments: 2025

Education:
  • Triveni School: INR 277,600 sent to Triveni school to cover tuition fees. Kodava Koota supported 21 students at Triveni School this academic year and overall helped 84 students totally over 3 years)
  • Appachakavi school: INR 250,000 was sent to Appachakavi Vidyalaya, Ponnampet to cover tuition fees of 19 students and overall helped about 100 students totally over the last 4 years. 
  • Shipped books obtained from donations to Kodagu and was handed over to Thriveni School, Virajpet to enhance their library. 
  • Under exceptional circumstances help has also been extended to other needy students.  Paid the college fees of a student in Mysore who had just lost her father and the family had exhausted all their savings in his medical treatment. The amount donated was INR 30,000. Paid INR 31000 for the annual tuition for one 2nd PUC student at Cauvery College, Gonikoppal.
 
Medical: 
RIHP: CT scanner donated to RIHP. It was formally inaugurated on April 2023 and each month on an average a 100 CT scans have been performed.

Culture and Traditions:
  • Members of the Kodava Koota put together a Video on Kaveri Shankramana ceremony and Traditions. It was released on October 16th, 2024
  • A video on ‘Making Kumbala Curry’ was also released 
 
Convention:
  • Worked with the organizing committee of Kodava Convention 2025 in Toronto, Canada. Helped them with the creating and organizing the website, managing the accounts and registration.
  • Assisted the organizers of the Chicago convention 2024 in terms of organization, payment collections and advertising 
  • Working with the organizing committee for 2026 Kodava Convention in Houston, TX. Helping with accounts and financial management. Coordinating and collaborating with potential organizers of future conventions; 2027 and 2028.
 
Operation and Finances:
  • Set up a Venmo account 
  • Filed 2024 taxes

  • Launched Voluntary Hours for Kids initiative
  • Gun Rights Case: Work in progress
  • Mentor Protégé initiative was set up: 3 graduates were matched with mentors  
  • Donated $1000/- to Kundyolanda family for the Hockey Cup
  • Kodava Koota Fireside Chat: Very Fruitful Panel discussion with moderator and panelists on the ‘Pros and Cons of Moving to India’ held virtually on July 12th, 2025. Very important and relevant topics discussed included ancestral property buying/selling, Healthcare needs, retirement/work, School and education and Aging parents
