After the ur (village) kol dance the villagers go to the takka’s house. On the way to the takka’s house they sing the batte pat. At the takka’s house they sing the puttari pat, followed by the mane pat of the okka and collect a pana (money) from the takka. Similarly they go to every house in the village and after singing the mane pat in praise of the okka in each house they collect a pana from them. Additional panas are collected from anyone in the house who was married that year or to whom a child was born that year. If there are any guests, the singers sing in praise of them also and collect money from them. These songs are generally similar to sections of the wedding song.
