On this day, Kodavas generally go to Talakaveri and perform pooja after taking a holy dip. Those who are unable to make it there on that day may go on the following day to Harischandra Temple in Palur or to Balamuri, which are sacred places further downstream. People may also go to Guyya on the banks of the river on the following new moon day. Those who cannot go to Talakaveri on the day of Tula Sankramana may go there on any day until Vriscika Sankramana which is the first day of Kodava month Birchyaar which is typically around mid-November. Tula Sankramana is also known as Balya (big) Changrandi and Vriscika Sankramana is known as Kiru (small) Changrandi.
